I discovered this weekend that the passenger side nut was missing off the bottom of the shock mount, the metal bracket that the lower portion of the shock bolts to, that then bolts to the suspension. The bolt to the suspension arm was missing. I had a washer and nut to be able to reattached the unit and it looks like the driver's side now but when I looked at the shop manual it looks like there is a rubber bushing between this piece and the nut. Am I missing some rubber bushings? It looks like this is supposed to float whereas mine is bolted in place.

I assume that you are refering to the front shock . There is a rubber gromet on either side of the shock mount plate.
Also a larger special washer on top of the top gromet and the same, a large special washer on the bottom of the lower gromet.

I wondered as much. Looks like my car got the abbreviated version so it looks like I'll be ordering some parts.
