All well here at hershey. Stopped at the VCCA tent yesterday and said Hello! Bill (At the Helm ) Barker was maning the booth and we had a nice chat. Still looking for a 31 Air Cleaner Deacl with no results. Rare item I guess. Weather cool but clear. Lots of junk and pretty cars to look at. Al w.

I was at Hershey today. Started walking the car corral at 7 AM. Walked most of all the fields and did a final sweep of the car coral on my way back to my car. I finished around 4 PM and boy are my legs hurting.
Whether was beautiful after the clouds blew away. I brought back the obligatory chocolate for my wife and son.
Lots of great stuff this year. Saw more early 30's Chevy parts than I remember seeing in previous years. Prices on the cars in the car corral seem to be getting higher and higher. I would love to know if the cars that sold went for the asking price or something lower.

Jim.

I spoke with several sellers and buyers at the car corral, many cars went to South America and Europe. The rusted out 59 Caddy maked 40k went to Brasil, don't know what the actual price was.
There is no car experience like Hershey.

Just a comment on the Hershey meet. There were more early Chev parts to be found. I enjoyed talking with the guys that had Chevy stuff as we had something in common. On a sad note, the age of so many attendees is really up there. Makes me wonder about our Hobby and so many of these cars we cherish. The car show/judging has way more 50's,60's and 70's cars than ever before. What will the next Ten years bring? Al W.

The crowd seemed older on Wednesday and Thursday, but the younger guys showed up for Fiday and Saturday. Probably because us older guys are retired and don't have office hours. I saw a lot of Dad's with young kids-they are the future of the hobby. There will always be an interest in old cars and things mechanical that are affordable.
I'm just happy to still be able walk the four days at Hershey.

A first for me this year. The first time that I've come to Hershey on a Tuesday. Then worked the fields all day on Wed, Thurs and Friday. Saturday we came back to see the cars drive in to the display/judging field between 8 and 10 am. Then kicked tires until the afternoon.

The BEST day for me was Friday-- that's when I found my BIG DEAL -- thanks to Bruce DeF for calling me and letting me know about it.... Ironically he was only 5 stalls away from me when he called my cell phone!!!!!!

I'd love to know what the " Big Deal" that you found is? We might all be looking for one.

I doubt it because Brusie (who was the first to apparently spot the deal) would have bought it instead.

And, yes, I looked for the decal for FIVE DAYS and never even SAW a '31 air cleaner... much less, one with a decal.

Great looking mirrors Mr. Bill. I spent alot of time looking for 1940 Chevy parts. I saw an NOS 40 front fender for $450. A 1940 8 Tube radio for $475. A pair of 40 wing tips that were brought by a vendor for us to drool over, as they were not for sale. I settled for an NOS 1940 Chevrolet Front Wiring Harness in the box, which includes all of the dash panel wiring. Pliable and in excellent condition. Not sexy but I will use it.

Nice find, I'd be prepared to swap a couple of 1931 air cleaners for the mirrors.
