I need running board trim for my '31 Special Sedan. Both The Filling Station and I&I are "temporarily" out and don't know when they'll have some. I have enough of the old to serve as a model for a craftsman to make me some. I"m fairly confident that my network of contacts here in the Susquehanna Vally might yield someone capable and willing to tackle it. There was another supplier on the internet but they wanted a small fortune for the trim. I realize that nothing I've done on the car so far has been cheap but sometimes I draw the line and wasn't going to pay his price.
Best Regards,
Tom

There is an advertisement in the October 2012 G & D magazine at page 41, second column, third ad down. It is an ad for 1931-32 running board trim. I was at Hershey today and saw the trim. The seller was not there at the time so I did not get a chance to speak with him. I do not know any more than is in the ad. The trim was installed on a running board at Hershey and it looked like it fit properly. The contact email in the G & D is leebetsy2 at gmail dot com.

Yes, L&L Auto Trim is still around and still making the runningboard trim. It is not inexpensive, but is nice quality. The company's owner is most helpful. Jay

Is it certain that a 1930 never had any trim around the edges of the running board rubber? Mine seem hard to glue down perfectly, with no ripples.

I have 7 out of the 8 pieces and the 8th piece has a small tip that is missing. These are original steel and have a lot of pit on them but could(I think ) be buffed and chromed. I have pictures if you would like to see them I would think $75.00 plus ups would be a fair price.... Send me an e mail Paul

A lot of pitting sounds unusual for these parts. The pieces were originally either stainless steel which held up well (I have 6 original pieces), or aluminum which was subject to turning brittle and crumbling over time. So if you have heavily pitted ones I'm curious what they were made from? Not aware any were ever chromed or plated.
