Sorry about all the newbe questions, but I am looking for answers and this seems to be the place to get them. The body number on the cowl tag is K4838. Does this indicate that the car was made in Kansas City? Thanks for your help. More questions to come.

My understanding is that would be Kansas City. This would be plant #5 so the id plate would start out 5 or 05 then DA for a 34 Master Coupe. The rest of the number would be the month of mfg. and then the engine #. Hope this helps. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Tom

Topic should be "31 coupe" not "34 coupe" Sorry for any confusion.

5AE is what your serial number plate will start with. Nothing else previously mentioned applies to 1931. 1932 started with month of production following 2 letter code. The following numbers after that are just serial number & have nothing to do with engine numbers....Joe

Sorry Tom...you'll get it :)
