I received this engine as part of a package deal and I am trying to fine out what year of car it goes in. I was told it was a 1936 chevy truck engine. But I'm not sure. The casting numbers are as follows: GM G35 837591-5 The numbers stamped under the valve lifter cover are as follows: 535I33I
Thanks for your help John

I have a late in the year low cab 1936 truck. It has '35 casting numbers. Remember that this is the depression and sales were not good. A lot of '35 casting parts were used in '36 trucks. That is why you got '35 there.

NO 1935 engines were ever installed in a 1936 truck AT THE FACTORY. This was aone later in the life of the truck.
Also 1936 was a very high perdction year compared to 1930-1935. This was partly due to the veterans from WWI getting their checks + the depression was letting up.
