Thanks for the info , Question ; do you have to draw the old oil out with a syringe type pump or is there a drain plug / bolt ,etc ? Do you need to jack the vehicle to get the wheels off the ground or can it be done as is ?
The listing show Penrite No 1 and No 2.
I think No 1 is the correct Oil what do you suggest ?
Only new to this stuff , any ideas welcome .Thanks .

I would go with the no. 1 fluid. If you want to check the operation of the shock absorber you can disconnect the link pin and then move the shock absorber up and down by hand. If you want to clean the old oil out , you can remove the end plate and replace the gasket with a new one . A rebuild kit is also available from the www.fillingstation.com for 2 shock absorbers, part number AF-210-2 If you have a filler plug in the end cap you can refill on the car. If you have no filler plug the shock absorber needs to be removed from the car and remove the relief valve at the small end , and tip the sock absorber back to fill it.

So that more fellows will see these postings and possibly share in the discussions, you might want to post in the 1929-32 forum instead of here in the "New To Chat" forum. Any light weight hydraulic jack oil will work in the shock absorbers. Also, as Jack said, remove the end plate and then you can pour out all of the old fluid. The 1930 shock absorbers do not have a filler plug on the front cover. You have to remove the cap and the relief valve on the top of the shock absorber. It is best to work on the shock absorber off of the car.
