I see a muffler bracket about midway under the car on the exploded view. I have two correct tailpipe brackets. Now I need the two brackets that are at the muffler (toward the rear of the muffler). I don't see where they attach under the car(looking for holes). Anyone have a photo of the exact location. Now I have a ridgid pc of metal tac welded to secure the muffler/pipe. orangeupset

THANKS, that's what I needed. The exploded view shows a inlet and outlet of the muffler that is offset. My muffler is like yours. Not sure which way to go. Another thing...If I add the extra exhaust pipe ,for the split manifold, the muffler will be right below the fuel tank drain valve. If I move it forward to get it away from the drain valve it would be a tight turn to crossover to the other side of the car. The driveshaft angle would be getting close to a problem.Comments.

Isn't it amazing how many questions someone can ask about a 38 chevrolet. laugh

The mufflers in the video are a lot farther back than the stock position. Use smaller diameter round mufflers and move them forward.

I see a folding wire clip in the photo . It's in the middle of the photo. My car has that also. I wonder what it is for? I used the stock clips when I rewired the car, Just noticed there was one going toward another direction. Maybe the gas tank, but my car has the gastank wire under the headliner. It states that in the manual also. Any ideas? monkey

Great post. I forgot about that option. Agrin If I ever pull the gas tank, mine will have the gas gauge wire going thru that clip also. The gas gauge wire disappears into the deep dark hole and goes under the headliner orangeupset Lets hope you never slip and drop that wire while trying to fix the gauge. Tiny warned me about that or I would have dropped it for sure. orangeupset Thanks Tiny. parking

Steve...If you ever decide to replace your gas tank with a stainless steel one, like I did last fall, talk to me first I could save you allot of grief and cussing...ED

I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED
