Today I fulfilled a promise to a couple getting married to let them use our 31 for photos. Drove the old girl a total of 17 miles. All the work of doing things right and as original as practicle really shows. Car is quiet inside and drives very nicely. Don't laugh, but a memory came back from a time long ago. Didn't we put saw dust into the Transmissions when they were very noisy? I know the noises are normal for these cars but did we find a way to quiet them? Thanks, Al W.

As for the Saw Dust idea. My uncle, who was a used car salesman said it worked just fine!!! Al W.

Now we know how used car salesmen got their shady reputation.(Pun intended). The tolerance on the old transmissions is one reason they required such heavy gear lube. Sawdust did have a use for older diesel by-pass oil filters as thats what was inside the filter.

It's hard to tell but I think your color is Boatswain Blue. If it is, what paint brand and number did you use? Thanks!

Yes, the Trim indicated Boatswain Blue. I picked a color from the chip book. When I go to my shop I'll look at the can. Al W.
