I am in the process of redoing my hood , I removed all of the rivits on the hold down clamps and bead blasted the hood . My question is were the clamp mechanisms painted or bare metal. I am pritty sure that the hold downs were added after the initial coat of paint because there was paint under the center latch plate.I know that the rivits were painted the same as the hood so they would have been installed before the final paint. The rods were rusty with minimal paint. Mabey some overspray .Hopping that some of the original servivour folks can help |Thanks JSK.

I have two '32 Confederate's that are original. Both hood rod assemblies are painted.

I have an all original 1932 Special Sedan that was built in the Oakland factory. The rivets on the hood are not painted.
