This welting question reminded me of something I was supposed to figure out. On the front fender of a '38 there is welting between the front fender and the cowl and the front fender and the dog house. On the cowl/fender section the welting starts at the top of the running board at the base of the fender and travels up the gap toward the front of the car and then ends somewhere around the horizontal bolt that pulls the fender to the front of the cowl. How does it end? Do you wrap it around so that the cut end of the welting is pointing down on the inside of the engine compartment or should it stop somewhere else? How does the fender/dog house welting end? There was no welting on the car when I bought it so that's no help. Also, what is the correct dimeter of the bead on the welting?
