Can anyone tell me where I can find the number of 1934 chevy cabriolet master cars manufactured. I just purchased one today and was trying to find out information on the car.
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm new to the sight and having a little truble finding my way around
Thanks
John

Thanks for your input. All of the id. tags have been removed for this car, so I'll assume it was made in the US.

I'm trying to find out. One of the previous owners removed them. Probably when they primed the car.

You can find brand new fisher body oval tags on ebay, saw some a week or so ago.

only way your going to get a firewall tag is too find the originals from a past owner, or locate one hopelessly wrecked & being parted out. Its not end of the world, you have a title.

my roadster which was made by **chevrolet body** had fisher tags on both lower front quarters

Thanks, When I get the car home I'll check the quarter panels. I wish I could ask the previous owners about the tags. The last two owners have died from cancer before they could do much work on the car.

If the orignal firewall tag doesn't turn up a new one can be made by "A Guy Backeast" www.datatags.com
Good luck on your restoration, a very rare and desirable car.

Question......did you get an ownership title to this car. If you did and its been filled in correctly over the years, that will supply you with some vital information to give to the guy in colorado to replicate. ?

Your GM aluminum tag on the firewall should say :

1935......MODEL.......1207

serial number 51207XXXX ( XXXX is last 4 serial numbers )

51207 = the 5 designates 1935 the 1207 is model

I have a Canadian tag that says my car was made in oshawa ontario, i would think your USA built should say where it was built..city---state ?

On cars built in the USA the city and state are not shown on the cowl tag.

Actually your car should read 35-1207A if it's a 1935. 35-1207 is a 1934. This is if it's US built. The next line will have a letter indicating the assm plant of that car followed by a number indicating the run number of that body style. Maybe post everything the tag says & if you have the tag on the floor post those numbers...Joe

Paint code 187 is Hollywood Tan, with Cream Medium striping and Cream Buff wheels:

http://home.znet.com/c1937/paint.htm

The prefix "M" in the motor serial number indicates a Standard (as opposed to a Master) motor:

The F 2777 indicates the 2777th 35-1207A built in Flint Michigan. If your serial nunber plate was still on the car it would start as 1EC. The number you've posted is probably the engine serial number as been mentioned which is probably how it was regestered. Is that what is on the title? Take a look on the floor in front of where the passenger would sit to see if the serial number plate is still there. It's held on by 4 small nails....Joe

I found a plate that says 1EC04 then 5 numbers. As the puzzle unravels. She is registered with the engine numbers.

Sounds good. The 1EC as I suspected also says it was from Flint. The EC means 1935 Standard & the 04 is the month of production. The rest of the numbers are serial numbers starting at 1001....Joe
