I did some antiquing today and came up with these little goodies! The GM container is still full! Looks a little gunky though. My question is, what year is it from. It has a part number, but was the number the same every year, or specific to a certain year. It's made in Canada, so I'm not sure if the number will relate to what some of you have down there. Neat can. Sometimes there is a codified date on the can. Look on the back possibly. Sometimes is shows;as an example; 8-48 after a TM sign.

The can is not '38 or '39 since those years use a different design. The '38-'39 cans have a red ribbon containing the words "GM GENUINE PARTS" in a square between the words "APPROVED ACCESSORIES", like these:

That's a really, really nice GM can. Excellent color and condition. Good find.

So, on the side of the can there's a stamp that looks like two C's together and a -59. Is that the year? I wasn't sure if there was a difference between various years, or if the can is different because it's Canadian. All of the other stuff I've seen is the Black and Yellow theme posted above, but I wasn't sure how many years those ran for. My can is blue on the bottom part, not black.

We have collected old GM tins for awhile now around here but, have never seen a GM Canadian Mapleleaf can like that before.
