Where is the location of the vin# for a 1928 Coach? I have heard that it is the body number on the firewall tag and others have said that it is on the tag near the seat.
I have a Canadian built car and the vin # used on the title is the body number on the firewall.
Is this the same for a US built car?

On the closed cars it is normally on the right side (Passenger) of the front seat frame. If the seat is foldable, then it will be located on the floor under where the passenger's right heel would rest. Of interest, is the fixed front seat cars. Look behind the front edge of the seat riser. You should find, burned into the wood, the Fisher body identification and model number. This information is not on any of the Chevrolet built cars.

I have just purchased my second 1928 National Coach in the last 2 months. When I got my new Ohio title the Canandian car they used the body number on the firewall and the US built car I purchased today used the number on the metal tag on the passenger side seat frame.
