1932 Chevrolet roadsters are a little scarce and they are very desirable cars to own.

Easiest way to identify a CONVERTIBLE is that it has roll up side windows, ROADSTERS have none, they use side curtains that clip onto the windshield post and the body area.

Also, convertible bodies like the cabriolet were made by Fisher Body, whereas the roadster body was made by Chevrolet.

Canadian roadsters are a bit different and have a body by fisher cowl tag affixed to the cowl under the hood. There are some emi replicas out there as well.

There are a few things that arent correct for 32 on this one ,The block where the wires go through the firewall is wrong,Should be horozontal and not rubber grommets.Theres a starter solonoid on the top of the starter and I dont see the starter rod through the toe board.I also dont see a cowl vent. leeds me to think this is a emi replica. Still worth 20k or more .Just might not be an original 32 roadster.

This might be an original car just rebodied with an emi body. The emi bodies were second to none and if they were still producing parts we would still be using them . My car has parts from emi on it . Dosnt make it not an original ,just restored with the best parts available . The emi cowls were reproduced without the cowl vent. But one could be added. The block were the wires go throught the firewall could be changes as well. For 20k this car would be loads of fun.It all comes down to what you want he car for. Judging or drivng.Good luck.

If the roadster and tourings have bodies that were built by chevrolet, why would they have a FISHER BODY tag on it.? The tags for roadsters and tourings was on the floor in front of the seat frame or on the seat frame..passenger side. This is what i have been led to believe by all the experts.

I cannot speak with great knowledge on 1932 chevrolets but moreso 1933--1935 roadsters.

The 32 roadster was bid to $24,610 and did not meet reserve. The same seller also listed a nice orignal 32 coupe that did sell for $9500.

My bad. I should have said COWL TAG. It says General motors of canada limited .made in canada. My model is a conf 146. This tag is the same as the sedans and is revited in the same spot on the cowl.

Hi Jack,

Can you post a picture of this tag your talking about? I've been playing with roadster/phaetons for many years and have never heard that they had a cowl tag. In the US, the only tag that roadsters/phaetons have is on the seat riser.

Also what information is on your tag? I do have a Canadian owners manual for a 32, don't know if it lists any model numbers.
