what would happen if i just installed a power brake booster and split the front and back lines , right now i have just 1 line coming from my cylinder, and leave the shoes for now ????

lilrobo, we know you like to 'mess with your '58 but for your sake and all the folks and objects on the road in front of you-----please don't try to re-engineer the brakes!! 1967 was the first year for federally mandated separation of front/rear brakes. Up till then about 100 million cars & trucks were made with the old combined system and properly maintained they work fine. A properly designed 'hotrod' aftermarket split system with front discs is over $1000. repairing the old one can be done for about $300 if your drums are ok to resurface.

good point ,, thanks
i was just asking cause my sons 65 stang has got power brakes with shoes we did the disc in front with 17" rotors and w had to use a diverter valve to adjust the pressure so that the lock didnt happen , but i taking the drums off and inspecting them and checking them out might just need cleaned up and adjusted

thanks again , i do like playing with thing gives me something to do
