I've been spending a little time over there, in the name of research only, mind you...And although there is some interesting and useful information, I don't particularly enjoy their posts or the way they treat "newbies"...I don't find it very personable and I hope this site doesn't ever pick up any of their "traits"...I am registered w/username ( same as here ) but I don't find any reason to post...
Anyone care to offer another opinion...?

I find that site hard to follow, because there are so many posts, and no topics or sections. To find anything on Chevy sixes, you have to wade through stacks of Ford stuff, or use the search... and everyone knows how annoying search functions are! I find the Chevytalk forum to be a more suitable place.

There's a forum for 216s but it's not very active. I haven't been there for a while.

Different strokes for different folks.
AND, birds of a feather flock together.
I'll continue to hang out in VCCA-land.

The language sometimes used on the H.A.M.B. site gets very disgusting, no respect............. I noticed that myself (THE CRUDE LANGUAGE)...That don't bother me much but it really shows a lack of class in some folks who use the site...I understand the rebellious attitude of youth but that site manager should.. (As Barny Fife would say) "Nip it in the Bud"....ED
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

I don't know what came over me....! It must have been the surprise that they even have a Forum for 216's, let alone want to "Rod" one...lol I did notice some "threads" from younger guys wanting to know where everybody else is "hanging out". Have to admit that some of the language sounds more like it's coming from delinquents then serious "rodders"...

It can get a little abrasive on there and have been hanging out on there for a few years.

Although they have links to some great pictures and have some pretty good useful info, I very rarely visit over there and have no desire to join.

Been a HAMB Alliance member for years now. Made a buncha friends all over the country through the site. All I can say is....It is not a site for the squeamish or faint of heart. Overly moderated sites tend to be boring & stifled. If you are one of those guys that thinks a moderator should be constantly looking over everyone's shoulder with his finger on the delete button..... you better stick to the Stovebolt page. One of the best topics ever started on the HAMB was.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428585&highlight=vintage+pictures

The H.A.M.B. is a great site. I'm a member there also. Moderators don't interfer much unless it gets pretty nasty.

If it wasn't for the HAMB, our Fleetline would not be running. The folks there on that site are a different breed, but that's okay because we are too! A lot of people there helped advise on bringing the 216 back to life, helped us secure some NOS seat covers, and even helped me buff out the original finish on the car and preserve it. There's a lot of stuff to ignore on there, too. But if you want a group of hard core car nuts that actually wrench on their own stuff and know what they're talking about...I can't think of a better site than the HAMB. Maybe the VCCA chat site
