Hello Guys,
I'm looking at replacing my hood spring, are the springs on a 53 - 54 heaver than the 49 -52, can they be used on the earlier cars. I have heard of people that have fitted new springs without much improvement.
Any feed back would be appreciated,
Ian.

If you find a heavier one let me know. Had my hood off and made the mistake of oiling them. Now can't get the hood to stay up. There is a picture off a tool for the spring removal in the shop manual. Looks like it could be easy made.

The tool is an easy make and has been done by Bob Hayden of Chevy Talk Forum.
