I have a 1931 5-window coupe and I need to fabricate the drain for the back window as the bottom section is missing on mine. Any information or photos of what it looks like and where the drain goes would be appreciated.

All I have been able to find on the rear window drain is a a drawing in a Fisher body book but it is not very detailed. I can make a drain that will work but would prefer to make it look correct. I have taken photos of what I have and tried to post them unsuccessfully and I was hoping someone could help with some information or photos. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry but don't have a Coupe. There are plenty out there so eventually someone will be able to help. Just got to get their attention.

Thanks for the replies, mine is completely gone from the bottom of the timber down. For some reason there is some type of absorbent material that must have sat right across the bottom of the drain which was a perfect recipe for rust and there are no remnants of the bottom of the drain or the pipe or pipes that I assume went down through the floor somewhere. There are not many Coupes in Australia that I could look at. I found a photo of this car taken in 1985 for the inside cover of the G&D when it was owned by a Herb Saul in Sacramento California.

On my 30 the drain is a rubber hose that empties behind the left rear wheel.

Thanks Karl, that is a great help, does the drain slide up between the underside of the parcel shelf and the timber frame for the window? and where does the drain go through the floor? Regards Michael.

The drain tube goes through a hole in the wood frame and there's a corresponding hole in the running board splash apron. Good luck.

If you can't find a good used one or repro, try a shop that fabricates air conditioning duct work. They should be able to make something that looks good and works.
