Not too long ago I was over 15,000 posts. Now I am at 14,800 and some. What happened?

Gene, It may be that they recently reviewed your posts and found that after all this time, some have been posted before. In other words, the same exact advice or information given on more than one occasion. Could happen. They may figure that some of your posts should be counted once only. Other than that, I can't imagine what happened. Go figure. Maybe Bill knows. Charlie

Charlie is not correct on his theory. I discovered the same problem with the post count about a week ago and I talked to Billy Boy Barker about it. However, I will let Billy Boy Barker explain what happened to the post count because he can do it way better than I can since he has an extremely vast knowledge when it comes to all of this computer stuff.

Good one Chip. No fence-building here. But I did mix 20 bags of concrete last week. Explanation: Last week "someone" mentioned that he saw a person who had recently posted 5 times, but his count still showed ZERO. After looking at it, I couldn't see where the problem was. So for the first time in 6 or 7 years, I ran a "Totals" program which goes in and RE-COUNTS everyones Post Count. This is a great way to "clean up" the accounting, but it also introduces some different variables. For example, if a post, or thread was Deleted, then the individuals count doesn't automatically go down. But after running this new Totals program, it will end up with a lower total for the people who where involved in the Deleted thread. That's just one of the "variables" - and I'll admit that not too many threads have been deleted over the years. So if a person has a large change in their post count, then it was for some other reason that was embedded into the program - and some things that I still don't understand (since it's not documented all that well). All I can say, is that everyone should have been treated equally when the new TOTALS program was run last week. But if you think you got shorted, then just drop me a PM.
