Does anybody have good pictures and measurements of the above for a 1933 Chevy Master? How do you identify these for Chevrolet as opposed to any other make or GM generic through "Guide"??
I am looking for a set of Fog Lights with amber lenses for my 33 Master and sportlights. Where these specific year by year to a make and model?

I used to have a 1933 chevrolet salesman data book and it listed fog and driving and sport lights. No idea where it is right now , but i will have a look around and see if i can run into it for you. Was a photo copy a guy in michigan gave me years ago.

We dont have Fog over here, just a very light mist with a hint of moonlight sunbeams intermingled with the breath of 200 vestal virgins....... foglights? only a donkey and a candle are needed......

Okay, no fog or driving lights were offered until 1937 as options for the car.
But couldn't one purchase GM owned GUIDE LAMPS at the dealership and install them on their car. ??? Like the Guide SUPER RAY DRIVING PASSING LAMPS 7 7/8" LENS. The DE LUXE lamp with the 6 1/4" lens type came out in novemeber 1937 by the advert i have for it.
Found the 1933 chevrolet chevrolet sales data book, mentions absolutely every option accessory except fog or passing lights.
But my 1934 april issue of chevrolet master parts price list shows a ; SPORTLIGHT " sportlight unit less brackets and attching screws ( junior ) 1930-34 $12.75 part # 363251
sportlight unit less brackets and attaching screws ( standard ) 1934.. price = P O A part # 600513
There is no picture of the sportlight but i think its a movable spot light thats mounted thru the cowl area of the body judging by the amount of bracketry available for it and specific body styles 1930--1934 .

A sport light (most call them spot lights) was an approved accessory in 1931. Installation directions were posted in the Service News. The sport light was continued as an accessory until later another model replaced it. Not sure exactly what year that happened.

The Guide Division of GM offered several different fog lights for ALL cars. They were not sold through GM Dealers but through United Motors Service parts houses. Even in 1941 they had over 8 different fogs at United. Chevrolet used the passing light as is but the real fog light Chevrolet sold was a Chevrolet exclusive although there was a simular Guide lamp unit available.

GENE..........what do you know about the GUIDE SUPER RAY DRIVING LIGHT WITH 7 7/8" LENS and the other one the GUIDE DU LUXE driving passing light with 6 1/4 lens.
Any idea when exactly these came out for sale ??
I have always noticed the TRIPPE lights on the early 1929--33 era large classic cars...packards, cadillacs ect. Any idea when that light was introduced for sale ?

Mike, Send me your email address via PM and I willl send you pictures of what guide offered in 1940.
I really never saw Tripp lights till after WWII. Not even sure what the first ones loooked like. They also sold a Tripp Jr. which was smaller and looked better on low and medium priced cars.

The Sport Light was used up into the 1934 model year. It was replaced by the Saf T Lite in 1935. The lights look the same except the builders plate already mentioned. Both plates have the words Sport Light or Saf T Lite. Not sure if Saf T Lite has Chevy emblem or maybe GM Logo???
