Does anyone have a good source for the split wheel rims for a 28 chevy? I need at least two in relatively good shape (not bent or twisted) for my 28 Coupe.

Thanx (Member 047596) I had to sign in under another name because of all the log in problems I have had lately, and no one can resolve it right now.

I am sure you know this but the 28 wheel is 3" across the inside rim. The early rims are 2 1/2".

ebay has them a couple of times a year. note that 1928 are wider than pre 28. you may have to buy a wheel to get rim. i am not sure but 28 may have jaxon or that other one i forget right now, kelsey hayes, but the rims have to be for your style wheel. you can also find them on craigslist from time to time. you can find yourself buying something that does not fit before you find what u want. anyone looking sure has a few around they wish they did not buy. nice 28 rims are hard to find. good luck and expect to pay if u find some. look on ebay, the stores, a guy named tomanyhobbies has some. i think he wants 100 bucks or so and i have seen better.

I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.

Thanx for the info. I check Ebay and a lot of other sources regularly, and try to stock some parts that are subject to wear and tear, but never thought I would need rims until recently. Finding "good" anything old and used is always a problem and expensive to some degree, although some folks are a lot more reasonable than others. And yes, they are Jaxon

Appreciate the response.

I'm waiting to hear from a guy in Florida I found who is parting out a 28 coupe and said he will give me all 4 wheel assemblies, including rear axle tubes, and 5 rims for a very attractive price.

I will keep you in mind if this deal falls through.

Thanx much.

Thanx for the info. I think I have found 4 good used wheels out of Florida, if the deal goes through next week. I am buying them all as a hedge against future needs.

Regards,
