This is also posted in the 54 category, but thought perhaps you 55 - 60 folks would have some input.
Please, no abuse about converting to 12 volts. I am getting old and want to put AC into my 54 sedan. To do that I must have 12 volts. The car has factory Power Steering, which means the genereator drives the PS pump. Is it possible to install a 55 or newer PS generator and have the 54 PS pump fit or did they change between 54 and 55. How far up would the 54 pump fit a 12 volt generator if it will?
From a different angle, would a 55 to 60 powersteering generator/PS assembly complete be compatible with the rest of the 54 PS components? In other words, I can buy a complete 57 Gen/PS assembly, so in theory just hook up the hoses and it should run???
thanks for the input,
Ron
