It does need some work...! But how often do you see something like this in "our neck of the woods...!" I wonder how much it will eventually go for...? Thanks for posting, Keith...

A lot of folks think they've got gold with these old cars. I recall seeing a '53 Eldorado for sale years ago for $20,000. For that price it was a body and frame with no suspension, floors, or running gear. Some interior was there. Sure it would be a six figure car when restored...but how many people are willing to go that far? Same with this woody, it would be a dynamite car once you put $70,000 and 4 years into it. But the number of enthusiasts with that type of determination and resources are slim. $8500 would have been a good price to get the "bones" of a woody and build it. Some (like me) would say even that was generous. Oh well, looks like he'll have to sit on it.

Yes, it would be one heck of a project...I was thinking the only way this would work is if the buyer also had a "donor" vehicle already on hand for the other half that this "woody" is missing...

Well North of $ 50k if in good shape. Takes a master cabinetmaker to match grains and shape perfect joints. The bodies used a mixture of woods to get the different grain patterns and complimentary colors.

Hey Bruce, I forgot you have a Fulton Sun-Shield gracing your car, and from your photo, I can't quite tell if the side-supports are one or two piece...? I like how it sits up high...Now that I've blown up the photo it looks like it does...Great picture to observe the positioning...Thanks, Kevin

Kevin your correct the visor brackets are 2 peices

On the tilt of the visor,I respect your opinion, but this is a very old pic and I lowered the visor shortly after it was taken..As you can see in the pic the visor does not follow the contour of the car

Oh, no...! Your going to get a "crick" in your neck, trying to see out the windshield...! lol Next you'll be telling me you have to use a "traffic light viewer" to see past the end of the hood...!

Kevin those veiwers don't work for me very well..After a while you just naturally stop way before the light and hope that the signal light sensor detects your car...

I installed a Mark Miller Country Club kit on my '47 Aero just before driving to the Central meet in Sandwich. His work is outstanding, and he's done a number of wood-body restorations. For the Aeros and convertibles, he works from the patterns of an original Engineered Specialties kit he picked up at a swap meet years ago. He delivered my kit in about 4 months. Taking inflation in mind, his kit is just a few bucks more in today's dollars than the original. Doesn't make my Aero anywhere near a $50K car, but I definitely get $50K worth of enjoyment!

Don't much care for the 12 volt...I haven't seen that color dash/garnish before...Otherwise, pretty spiffy...
