I just took delivery of a 1946 1/2 Suburban. If I am not mistaken, there was only about 2,500 of these originally made. This one is pretty darn solid but needs a lot of cleanup to be done.

I am thinking that I want to leave this thing as original - as is but with some clean-up. I know there is a big push to leave these original cars alone. stay tuned.

I added a suburban section to my web page to track progress.

Looks good and by the pics is in quite good condition.
Now that you have 2 46 commercial vehicles you will need to complete the array and get all of the bigger versions as well.

That is one great looking Suburban! Yes, definitely keep the vehicle all original with only some cleaning as needed. Remember, they are only original once and there can't be that many original 1946 Suburbans around.

Did a little clean-up work on it, ran it through the local car wash and took it for a ride today. Runs great but pretty much everything that is rubber or weather stripping needs to be replaced. Task #1 - replace all rubber......

A good sample of General Motors Vehicles in 1946. 1946 Chevy Suburban Carryall, 1946 Chevy 1/2 ton pick-up and 1946 Oldsmobile Woodie Station Wagon.

Thank you! I hope it is useful to others as they restore their 41-46 Chevy trucks.

Beautiful! Nice find! Maybe replace or replate the bumpers, and it would look almost new!

Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet.

Bill,
Tim is no where near 66.
I met him Monday night when he came to get a pair of bumpers for his NEW Burb.
He is a great young guy and the kind we need to keep our hobby going into the future.

Thanks Mike for the nice commets. Even more so thanks for offering up the parts to me that you did! They will be installed this weekend for sure! It is true that I am a ways away from 66 (25 years to reach that milestone). I just so happened to have fallen into these '46s and really like their styling. To be honest, I pretty much like all old cars but have always been a Chevy guy.

Shiny nos bumpers do make a difference. Looks great!

So my "guess" as to why Tim has three 1946's wasn't so good! Makes sense
to me that Tim just loves the '46 models. They're great; no doubt
about it. And you've got 3 really nice looking ones. Congrats!

Hope the pictures help. Eventually I will fully document the dimensions, etc. of all three rows for others use.

Wow, that is so nice!

Is the rear most seat a different color or does the picture just make it look that way.

I think the flash may have washed out the color of the middle seat. They are all the same color brown.
