G'Day from Australia .

I am trying to get an illustration of the H/Brake Ratchet and Pawl ( as the pawl spring is missing ) and i need to refit a new one for my 1930 "AD "Universal roadster ( RHD ) built at GM - Melbourne Austalia.

Also require an illustration & directions for the Driveshaft bushing , housing seal , etc (3 SPEED) as i have a major OIL leak . The Speedo cable is also leaking i have tightened the nut but to no avail.

I have a purchased a Repair & Owners Manual from the filling ststion but there is not any comprehensive illustrations for both the repairs i need to do.

Please help .

Paul - Australia .

Can't help much with the e-brake unless it is the same a US model. The spring fits under the handle and is available from the Filling Station among others.

There are two articles in the Generator and Distributor on replacing driveshaft bushing and seal. One in September 1985 and the other I can't find right now.

Add a doughnut shaped piece of felt with OD just under the inside of the cable housing and ID just bigger than twisted cable.

Hi Chipper: Do you know if that article in Sep. 1985 is in the G&D archives in the members only section of the VCCA. I tried a search but came up empty.

The G&D is not sold to the PUBLIC. It is sent only to members.

http://vcca.org/generator_distributor.htm

Sometimes people sell older issues at swap meets.

We have over 800 pages of previous articles scanned and saved in the Members area of the web site.

If you want to join the VCCA, you can then search for it in the Members area - or, I'm sure that someone would send you a copy of the page.

I fixed the leaking speedo drive at the transmission speedo drive nut / cable end . I used an small "o "ring on the end of the cable inside the cable housing , seems to do the job.

The torque tube leak will be fixed shortly as "The Filling Station " sent the instructions for the repair , plus the Hand ( emergency ) brake spring fitment when i ordered the gaskets , parts , etc..

Thanks for your help

Hi Paul.
I am also from the Land Downunder, with a 1931 Tourer, so perhaps I can help.
