I am putting a 54 Chevy 235 into my 41 Chevy.
I am trying to decide what color to paint the motor. I believe the 40's were gray, and the 54's were blue. Also, I have seen a light green color on some motors of this time era.
I am painting the car burgundy and the firewall will be burgundy. I believe the inner fenders should be black.
Also, what trouble, if any, will I have with motor mounts? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan.

What color did you end up using on the motor? I have a similar situation and I painted mine gray. I used as many of the 216 parts as possible so it wouldn't look like a switch, at least to the untrained eye.

In 1954 the car engines were blue,235 truck engines were gray and 261 truck engines were green so have have three choices. To make it look more like it belongs in a 1941 I would choose the gray. stressed
