Hi Guys I am fairly new to this web site but enjoy it immensly. I recently completed an ameture restoration on my 39 bus coupe Am enjoying driving it in summer. Am puzled about how the town and country horn is supposed to work. Mine has a set of trumpet horns under the hood but no switch for town and country horn, also from what I can gather the switch for it looked the same as the wiper switch and seemed to be located exactly where the wiper switch is . anyone know where the swich should go and how it works? Should ther be another set of horns mounted somewhere? Please help Thanks

The factory horn on a 1939 was a single horn mounted on the intake manifold. When the "Town & Country" horns were installed by the dealer the two long trumpet horns were mounted to the cowl to radiator support rods. The Town & Country switch (knob looks like the wiper switch and has a little plate under it) is located mid way between the center of the dash and the left end of dash,It also can be mounted above light switch but not correct. When the switch is rotated one way the single factory horn works. When switch is rotated the other direction the two trumpet horns work. The accessory trumpet horns were painted the gray engine color in 1939-all other years they were black.
