1937 MD--No surprise, the rubber on the transmission mount is shot so I purchased an inexpensive repair kit that came with two pieces of hard rubber with a metal plate approx. the same size--no instructions so I called the company and no one there seemed to know how to set-up the installation. They ultimately told me to "stack"em up." Now, that doesn't look right--maybe too tall so I'm wondering if one of the rubber pieces and metal plate goes under the transmission mount while the other goes on top with the transmission resting directly on it. The transmission bolts would tighten-up on the metal plate??? Your thoughts?

Those supports are readily available as repros and originals on e-bay with the rubber altready attached to the metal support...not sure it's worth the trouble and hassle to repair...they seem to be available at a reasonable cost...just my opinion...Billu38

Thanks for the photo Brian--do you think the rear motor mounts need to be loosened for the transmission to be lifted the inch and a half?

If the rear motor mounts are in good shape they will not give very much. But you can just loosen the bolts on the motor mounts and that will give you enough room to slip the transmount in place.

I replaced my transmission mount without dealing with the rear motor mounts . It's tight but will slide out with a little effort. The MAJOR problem with my install was the $%$#@# emerg. brake linkage. Getting it to slide out of the way is a hassle.

Steve.....I don't get it??? Is your transmission always trying to "Mount" your Engine ...Or is your Engine trying to "Mount" your transmission????......OR are you trying to do both yourself??? Remember now, this is a family oriented sight.
.....Good Luck.......ED
