Any recommendations for a place to buy a set of 6.00 x 16 tires for a '38 Master Deluxe? I would like as original as possible. I am familiar with Kanter's and Chev's of the 40's.

I checked with the Coker tire people at the Fall Hershey meet this past October and their Rep. told me they didn't carry any 6.00x16 radial wide white walls and weren't planning, to his knowledge, to have any made. Their site also doesn't list them. I wish they would make them and would get a set for touring in my '37, if they did !! I put a set on my '55 Buick and the ride is 1000% better.

As per Oct. Hemmings Coker has 185R16 (6.0016 replacement size) white walls. Its in their tire ad and under Coker Classic Wide Radial White Walls.Price is $154.00 each and white walls are 1 5/8" wide There are a few people that have them that I see on the Eastern 6 cyl. tour. Its a very "European" looking tread design.......If you want bias tires I prefer the BF Goodrich as they look good and the white walls stay white. They are available from Coker for $106.00.....www.coker.com

Thanks, Chevy Nut. Obviously, the Coker Rep. I spoke with at Hershey, didn't know any more about radial tire sizes than I did! I will certainly check them out, since I need tires for the upcoming season. With 18"+ of auto
