Hello, my friend just bought a 1937 chevy master deluxe from washinton, and I have never seen the way this car is started. It does not have the foot button, that you push down and it starts the motor. On this car you push down on the gas pedal and it starts the motor to rotate and start. I have never this before. Has anyone eles seen this?

Thank you for your time

That is the correct arrangement for the 1933 and some other years.

Chevrolet used this on the 1933-1937 Deluxe models. Pontiac had it for about the same years, Buick had it up into the '60's and Chrysler had it in the thirties on the larger series.

I had a 1040 Buick coupe that was like that..When I bought it I went for a test ride and then drove it home. It took me about a hour to figure out how to start it the next day....ED

I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED
