Wondering if there might be an article or template to install a spotlight on the drivers side of the windshield post. Unsure of the procedure. Thank you in advance for any help in this installation.

Originally, there was a template used for the installation of the accessory spotlight. For better coverage and more help with your question you also might want to post in the "Chevy Trucks" forum on Chevy Chatter II.

Good luck!

The template would depend on what make and style of of the spot light. They are not all the same.

The spotlight is "personalized" to your vehicle by the outside trim bracket. It is made to fit the shape of the A pillar of a particular vehicle. The kit which included the necessary bracket, template and any other hardware to make the light fit, also included a drill bushing.
First you locate and install the bracket, then put the bushing in the bracket and drill through the bushing to make sure the hole is at the correct angle. Make sense?
I believe I have a template but I do not recall what brand of light it is for.

The advise you gave me sounds like great advice to me, I'm not sure I will install it or not, I've been wrestling with that, after seeing what others have said about spotlights, not sure, but I might agree with them and not install one, I know it was a accessory that was in the 1940 accessories booklet. My 40 is finished and although I have made updates, I have not compromised the appearance of the vehicle.
