Just finished restoreing my 1928 generator, it was looking nice and new until I went to install it. I lowered it down to the mounting bracket and then it happened, it slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor. The end result was a broken pulley.....grrrrrrr, and scratched paint job. All that work now back to square one. Now I need a pulley, I have been looking around for one but they are scarce as hen's teeth, anybody have an extra they would part with? I would be intrested in buying it from you. Generator- 943B Delco Remy. Hanging my head in shame, bad luck happen's to the best of us.

Hi Jay28,
Dont feel too bad, we have all done similar things. You feel really bad, hey, life goes on.
The only thing I would say is
"If you had the engine splash guards fitted it would not have happened"
If all else fails in your part of the world, let us know, and we will see if we can find an OZ one. Well USA actually but we call em OZ.
Cheers
Ray
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Jay,
Try Richard(Rich), listed below. He specializes in the Delco Remy generator and starter parts. Great guy to deal with and he helped me replace my broken pieces!! Long story...

Hi 1928isgreat I had removed my splash guards for sand blasting and repair, so they were not installed yet, you are right they would have saved my generator if they were in place, but will know for next time. Hopefully I wont have butter fingers the next time around...lol.
