Was just looking at Ebay tonight for parts for my 48. Somebody has on of these units listed as a vacuum brake unit for a 48. Price is at $9 right now. Thought I'd give you a heads up.

I may take a chance on it. Mine's missing entirely...but it doesn't bother me to drive it as-is. If its cheap enough I'd like to pick one up for later. Thanks for the heads up on this!

It's mislabeled is why you can't find it...Another reason the bidding might stay low...

Look under.... '47 chevy vacuum brake...

You're correct - I picked up a NOS vacuum shift conversion kit on Ebay for $5 for my 48 - because the guy had no idea what it was, and, mislabeled it.

Good stuff...When you can find it...Sometimes it pays to run through the entire listing...I do it by clicking "ending soonest" and buzz through the next 24 or so hours, takes a couple of minutes. Then, I come back the next day and check the next 24 hours of listings about to end...I don't miss much...grin

I do the other way round I look for newly listed and then the *buy it now* items monkey
This way I found some interesting parts before others had the chance to even notice them. chevy

I tend to find that "buy it now" items are listings that are either "repeat offenders" or just plain old "hold for ransom" deals...grin

...But maybe that's just me....

I agree with you - that's been my experience as well.
