Update on the 36 Phaeton:
Have found and photographed two others, and decided that mine had a few issues.
It appears that the car had been wrecked at some point, and the frame must have been bent. The front cross-member was replaced with one that did not quite fit. The frame rails had patch plates welded on all four sides near the front body mounts, the running boards looked homemade, and the front fenders had been very poorly repaired.
Today I purchased an excellent parts car, that will solve all of the above, plus many others I am not reporting. Get a factory radio, heater and clock to boot.

Makes a lot of sense to find another 36 chevy and pirate the frame out if it and have it correct. Can you imagine the work required to repair that other frame properly.

Plus you got bonus parts you need ~!!!!!!

Good news all around.

It is good that you now have a parts car but by what you post it might be easier to restore the current parts car and use the first as the parts supply considering it has so many major issues.

Not really. The Phaeton, to the best of the limited information available, was one of seven built. I have found three (including this one) in existence.
