I am installing the dash switch for the town and country horns. The switch fits fine, but I cannot figure out what size nut is used on the switch shaft to hold the switch and the cover plate to the dash. It looks like a fine thread, the diameter is very close to 5/16", but neither a 5/16" course or fine thread nut will fit. 3/8" sized nuts are too big, and 1/4" too small. Is there a special nut used for this application? any idea what size it is? Thanks!!

There is an finer thread pitch for 5/16...It's 32 TPI, Probably going to have your best luck at someplace like Radio Shack since it is for an electrical switch...I assume your referring to those thin nuts that are used on toggle switchs, "pots" like behind your radio knobs, etc...? Kevin

Kevin, thanks for the reply, yes your are correct, the town and country switch looks exactly like a "pot" with a knob that fits on the switch shaft above the nut. I do not have an original nut, but it must be one of the thin nuts as you described. Thanks, you saved me a great deal of time.

I would have suggested you "borrow" a nut from another switch to see if it fits...I'm such a hoarder I've got box's of old switch's and such I'll never use so I have a good supply of near-worthless stuff everywhere...including nuts...grin
Good Luck with the Horns...!

Just like the 47 style grill better. Besides, the T bar is very rusty.

No thanks. Too different. I just don't care for the T-bar.
