Is there to be some type of adhesive or sound deanener between these pieces and door?Have you any idea of type and size of screws anchor these 4 pieces in place

Not a front door but a back door. Only pic I could find in this stage. All my panels had these screws, phillips pan head #6 or #8 see which fits your holes best, and nothing between the panel and door.

Thanks Russell..I'm Kinda getting ready for interior,so need to put some things back together..Hampton Coach is failing me though..Shipping date for the kit was 5/18 and nothing yet..So it will be spring or fall until a proceed..Must do some tours,meets and shows if it ever clears up here in Moss World

Before I put my door panels back on I put putty tape all around outside of door & then some heavy plastic sheeting,hopefully this will help keep moisture from getting to inside door panels,I remember there was some type of paper backing on an Impala I used to have.sure couldn't hurt anything.

As I remember there was some type of seal on the inside of the acsess pannels.I think it was the same type of tar paper deadener that was used through out the interior of the car??

Plastic sheeting...There's a modern touch...Good idea if the car is left out in inclement weather...Like mine...Darn it...

I am getting ready to attack the insides of the doors,rust proofing etc.It will be buttoning it up tight soon and don't want any thing growing inside there.

If you are talking about the metal access panels on your front doors my '40 door panels were sealed with what I've always heard called "dum dum" (sort of a tar string sealant) around the edges. Your local paint shop will know what it is or I think the last time I bought some I got it from Advance Auto Parts.

We've also used 3M strip caulk in previous cars to seal things up nice.

Cheap & available locally. Looks like the black caulk / sealer they used back in the day.

Your Hampton instructions will suggest you put the plastic sheeting as in todays modern cars.

Yeh,if i ever get them..I never would think the interior kit instructions would adress applications other then installing the kits components?

Any ideas how I should address the inside of the doors other then rustproofing?

Daryl's strip caulk is what I called "dum dum." My door access panels had/have a strip of the caulking around the panel just inboard of the screws.

I sealed mine with duct tape

Cleon,is this a 48,where did you get all that dash molding,interesting,did you fabricate it?

This is my '42 coupe. The only thing I fabricated was a walnut plate to take the place of the old radio and plastic trim. Then I mounted the A/C controls where the radio went. I have a remote radio and CD player in the truck now.

I guess in Texas AC is the way to go,where are you getting your interior,locally,hampton coach??

I picked out some cloth and my local upholstery shop did the work. Not like the original but I like it, and not near as expensive as Hampton. I just looked at my previous post. That should be trunk , not truck.

Sweet,I see your 2 spot lights,where about did you secure the inside brackets?Mine is screwed through the window molding

The best I remember, I think they are actually turned down and attached to the dash. It is not home right now. I have had it on display in the Texas Museum of Automotive History in Dallas for the winter. I plan on takeing it out later this month.
