I'm new to this place and new to the 40 Chevys’. I just picked up a 1940 Chevy 2 door special deluxe on sat. It is all original and has about 40,000 miles. It needs a lot of cleaning and interior work. I will post pics once I have a place I can host them.

Congrats on the '40 Chev purchase, Blmfighter. Have a good time here in Chat. Give some thought to joining the VCCA. Lots of benefits and fun too....

I use this web site to host my pictures http://www.webshots.com/. It seems to work out real well. I also use Photoshop to down size memory from where I set my digital camera. If I was better organized I could just take my digital pictures at my camera's lowest pixel setting. It's a big job for me to explain the steps I use to post pictures, but I would do so if you get real frustrated. Good luck and welcome, Mike

P.S. Your finding this web site was the second best thing you could do to enjoy your old car. The first was making the purchase. You will find unbelievable support in enjoying your Chevy here. As you become familiar with our site you will find an index of all our discussions over the last 10 years. There isn't anything that we have not discussed about our old cars.

I do not recall if anyone has posted the steps before. I know Wawuzit was a big help to me. Some help is under the mast heading of FAQ & HELP on the right at the top of the screen.

Looks like you have a good start on the restoration project or a reasonable daily driver as is.

Wow, looks like a nice town sedan that you have there, and she cleaned up really nice! Welcome aboard and I wish you well with getting her back on the road and cruising this season. Let me know if you want to hit up any shows or are looking for fun ones to go to this summer and if you want another black 1940's original Chevy to tag along! I'm just across the river from you in Peoria.

There's a great show in August at the David Davis mansion that your '40 would look great in.

I'd like to "like" it, but we're not FB friends! Nice looking car though. Enjoy it!
