Whats the proper tire pressure for my 28's tire with solid rims? Nothing listed on the tire. I have 32 psi but they look low. And I dont want to over inflate.

Hi etnfrd67,

According to the '28 Manual, passenger car tire pressure should be "...at least 35 pounds."

35 psi is what I'm using in my '30 coupe.

Gooday Dan R, I have experimented with different pressures but have run my tyres on the 27 Chev utility at 36 lbs all round for several years and there seems to be no adverse wear signs or handling problems . I try and keep to bitumen roads as the dirt roads make for a lively drive. Check the max tyre pressure on the sidewall best not to exceed that.

Many eons ago when I worked at a service station the pressure we put into most of the cars with balloon tires was 32 psi. MrMack's recommendation has merit. At some point you start trading off the quality of the ride to better operation.

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/
