I had heard one time that a ford t-model touring car top was the same as a Chevy's. Have to believe there is some difference, bow position?, length?, something?. Does anybody know for sure? Model-t tops are available but I can't find one for my '26. Should I go to a boat top place or an upholsterer? What type of material is best? I do have all the bows on car and working fine just need the fabric part.Any ideas?

I would use either "Colonial Grain Vinyl" or "Cobra Short Grain Vinyl". Both are designed for open cars and are available at Macs Auto Parts and other Antique F**d Parts dealers. I used Cobra Short Grain for my '26 and sewed my own.

Speaking of top material, what would be the correct material for my '28 Canopy Express? The wood was replaced by the former owner, but that's it. Just wood slats that run from front to back.
Thanks, Dean

The top material on my '28 Canopy Express was there but had holes in it. I replaced it with long grain cobra material. The replacement was essentially the same as the material removed.

Yep, Cobra Long Grain is for closed cars and Cobra Short Grain is for open cars.

Great info guys, Thanks. I'll have to see if I can come up with some of this material,I don't know about sewing it myself but it might be something interesting, and different, to try. I actually have access to a machine that would be able to handle it.
