hi all, i've bought a set of ventilation decals for my 27. question is where on the dash do they go. directions are worthless. they only tell whitch decal goes on whitch side. thanks

sorry ray, i don't know how to post a picture. there is some on evil-bay that shows a picture of them. i am told that they are correct for a 27. let me know what you find out about them. as correct as your car looks i'm surprised you don't know about them. maybe i'm out in the rain on these decals. thanks, you are the only one who responed to my question. jerry

They are for a hardtop sedan, and I am not sure if GM used them here on Holden Bodied Chevs in OZ.

Someone should know and be able to tell us both.

I hope you get an answer, and as I have not seen them previously I am unterested also.

I've never seen the Fisher VV decal.
There are two types of windscreen on closed cars. The VV one winds up from the base, about 5" and the top of the dash is about 1" higher than the cowl. I guess the VV is because there is two types of ventilation.
1. wind the window up to sit level with the top of the dash, the ventilation only goes through to your feet.
2. wind the windscreen up further and you will get air to your feet and the rest of the car.
The longer decal goes on the top edge of your dash, and parallel to the top edge, about 1/16" from the edge, on the RHS of the car.
My original 28 coach had the original one on it.

The second type of screen has a frame around the glass, hinges from the top and adjusts up to about 8" by releasing a lock nut and pushing it out. My 28 CSC has this type. I'm not sure if this version had decals.

Ray, tourers had masses of ventilation, even with the side curtains up, whether you wanted it or not, as you would know.

thanks guru, now we are getting somewhere. when you say a sixteenth, is that from the top and the side? i'm assuming that the one on the other side would be the same? thanks again

I have looked for an illustration showing the VV decals installed on the top of an instrument panel. So far have not found it. Maybe someone else can find it.

You are right, its like a car heater with no temp control but the ventilation control should read, fresh air or fresh air, or more fresh air.

With some hiddern velcro accross the top of the screen surround and inside the hood flap that stradles the screen I have been able to reduce a large amount of the unwanted ventilation.

The vv stands for vision & vent, my 27 does not have the decals and I can not see any where they might have been. the dash is original and has not been repainted.

doug, these were on closed cars only. there was no need for them on open cars. still waiting on someone to tell me exackly where they go on the dash. jerry

I don'y have the coach anymore, it was written off in an accident.
From memory it was about 1/2" from the rh edge of the dash.

I had a '31 Coach bought in 1969 that had the remains of the decals on the dash. Both were installed closer to the glass than pictured in BBs reference. Of course since the decals were installed by people the exact location would change depending who was doing it. That is despite an official location specified to production.

I expect that the '27 had the decals installed in a similar position to the '31.

Jerry I remembered to look tonight at the dash in my 27. It dose have a little bit of the decal left. It is on the right side on the top of the rounded part just under a 1/4" from both edges. I will try to take a picture if you need in the next few days.
