The 1936 Chev I just got does not have any windshield wiper mechanisms. Does anyone know what I need to replace the mechanisms?

Two seperate vacuum motors? Connector linkage?

Any info will be helpful.

Thanks.

Peter Z.

Get a 1936 Shop manual and it will show the 2 transmissions and the center mounted wiper motor.

The wiper transmissions are hard to find, but the motor isn't.

I just received a 1935/1936 Chevrolet Repair Manual. It is not a "1936 Shop Manual" by name and it does not have anything about windshield wipers. :(

Maybe it goes by a different name??

Nothing in the "Body Service Manual 1935/36" either.

Does anyone know what I need for my 36 windshield wiper mechanisms and how it all goes together?

Thanks.

DARN! I only have the Master Parts Price List for 1929 to 1932. Guess I'll be buying a new one.

Thanks for the information.

Well, I didn't go on line and order a Parts Manual for 1929 to 1942, but I did find an on line manual for 1929 to 1941 in pdf format and found a picture of the windshield wiper parts. Easy to download too. Woo Hoo! Just what I needed!

Thanks to the VCCA and all the members, I get needed assistence for my cars. Thanks to all!

The Parts manual for 1929 to 1941 had a photo of the 1937 windshield wiper parts, but not the 1936 version. The 1936 version are different.

The 1936 towers have twwo screw holes for mounting them on the car, but I can't figure out what they screw into. Guess I'm screwed!

I Can't win! the Parts Manual for 1929 to 1941 only shows a picture for a 1937 and on windshield wipers. Just not the same for a 1936 car.

Back to the drawing board.

It has been more than 30 years since I installed my wipers but the towers if I remember correctly were two pieces, the part you see and a bracket it screwed to that went on the underside of the cowl. keep an eye on ebay and hit some of the swap-meets that are coming up and you might find what you need. hemmings motor news lists suppliers, junk yards, and such that might be able to help.
