Hi. I am wondering if the gas cap on my 52 chevy should be vented or not. When I put gas in it today, and took the cap off it made a whoosh sound, Thanks ED

Yes it must be vented. The vent passage in the cap may be plugged-up.

If this is the first time that the woosh has occured then I agree, it is plugged. If it has been going on for some time or if you just recently purchased the car then you may have a raidator cap which is not vented. talk
