I just wanted to share a "fix" I did for the heater control valve on my 51. I used a heater control valve from a 57 chevy car. I bought it from Danchuk for $57.00. The only modification I had to do was to make the opening in the front of dash a bit larger (used my dremel)and drill 4 holes that it uses to. The outlets are 3/4 hose so I used a brass reducer 3/4 to 5/8 to attach the hoses It works great and the stock control cable can be used without modifications. Unless someone is showing their car I believe this is the way to go...no more having to rebuild the one you have or pay an arm and a leg for a NOS valve. I can try to post pictures later.

Always interesting to hear of another fix for the heater control valves. I have a 52 with deluxe heater, are the valves similar? I was told that there is a control valve for Toyota trucks that is nearly identical to the 52 set up but my NAPA parts guy has been to busy to research this. talk
