How does one check the oil in a 28 four cylinder?
I have what looks like the oil filler/place to check oil..But no dipstick.

In my teens, 20s & 30s I was a "stud muffin".
Now I'm just a muffin.

Hey Oldfart,

On the Carby side of the engine, just to the right of where the oil filler tube enters the block is the dipstick. You should see a loop of hook, otherwise yours must be missing.

I will put up a couple of photos

Mind you, you could use the old fashioned method:

"If the oil aint dripping on the ground the damn things empty"

Cheers

Ray

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/
