Hi All - I've been absent for awhile searching for a 1920 engine for my car. (I've also been concentrating on getting my '66 Corvair turbo back on the road.) I located an engine in Montana that offers the option of picking up some other early Chevy parts on the same trip. Trouble is, I haven't found these parts for sale anywhere else so I haven't a clue what they're worth. Can anyone help? Not all are 490 parts.
- pair of 1920 NOS rear fenders (new) - 490 radiator shell and support (good used) - transmission support wishbone - two 490 heads, one w/ early-style rockers & shafts (not magnafluxed for cracks) - five connecting rods - two cone clutches w/ leather, one clutch hub (no brass collar) - two Remy distributors (not sure which model) - one Zenith O4, one Tilletson carburetor - one square & two round starters - one square & one round generator - one coil (Jefferson Electric - model unknown) - box of misc parts: two pistons, push rods, fan pulley, etc.
If anyone can help me put a value on any of these parts - or a price on the entire pile of parts, I'd appreciate the help. If I'm going to drive 1800 miles round-trip, I might as well load up the Silverado.

I have talked to this seller several times. Actually he is just the middle man. The prices he quoted to me on a few items caused me to loose interest quickly. The fenders for instance only fit one obscure model and the price is "wow". Starter/generators $150.00 each?

Ray - I agree with you. Every time I talk to this guy, the prices change, or what's included changes. I have a couple other leads and will not pursue this any farther.

Have you seen any pictures of the items? Difficult to stipulate prices without any idea of the condition of a part. Pictures also needed for identifying the parts as to model/year.

Yes, there are photos at: '20s Chevy Parts (Hope this link works.) Scroll down to find '20's chevy parts 1-4. There's also a 1923 engine block under 1923 chevy. The parts are being sold by George Proctor in Missoula, Montana (406) 370-8438.

I was contacted by Tom who's working in N Dakota but has a stash of early Chevy parts in Nebraska. I asked him to check though his 4-cylinder engines and look for serial numbers. He just sent this message:
I just got home from NE and still don't know if I have any thing you need. I pulled engine serial # and checked what appeared to be the oldest of the engines one complete engine has a serial T3478087 and one short block has a serial T5012005. I checked all sources and the most I could find on the Internet under 1920 chev engine serial indicated the T series engines were manufactured in 1918. I grabbed a few pictures but none of this offers any certainty of what I have.
Can anyone ID the serial numbers serial T3478087 and T5012005?
