I don't know if it has been mentioned but the vendors are now offering the oakie bushing again. Now there is no need to go hunting on Ebay for one.

Chevs of the 40s has them and Jim Carter has them. I think there are soem years where the truck and car use the same bushing but Chevs of the 40s has them listed for cars. Here is their listing: Oakie Bushing

Chevys of the 40s does not have the bushing for a 37-39 car. They haven't had one since 2009. They are rare. The bushings are different from a car to a truck.
The Filling station has the correct measurement for a CAR. BUT..they are also out of stock. I've never found a vendor that had this part. 2009 was the last year they were produced.I just called both of these vendors. I don't know why they continue to list these.
Jim Carter does not have a Oakie bushing for a 37-39 chevy, but they DO have a few for 41-49 trucks.I called them also.
The reason for my interest is that I sold all mine but one. I don't know what it fits. It's for a chevrolet but it doesn't measure the same as the others I sold or the one I installed in my car. Just curious

Well Chevs of the 40s used to have a note on this item, just months ago to say it is unavailable and you could put your name on an interested party list. They do not have that note anymmore. So you are saying that even though their website has changed, they do not have it?
You may be able to cross reference the Oakie bushng you have by the "M" number, if it has one. It should be something like M101.

I called all three vendors today.. None had the oakie bushings. All three said 2009 was the last year they could get them from the suppliers. The only number on my oakie is the seal number . I can get the exact measurement. I have inside and outside micrometers. I just don't see a part number on the oakie bushing like I saw on all the others I had ,before I sold them. All were NATIONAL BRAND. This one fits a chevrolet, but which one..I don't know. I was hoping any vendor that had one could give me a clue to what I have, by measurement.

I believe the National number for the Oakie bushing is M-101. Fits 37 to 39 passenger cars and pickups.

The seal number is 50198 ![[Linked Image from inlinethumb02.webshots.com]](http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/48513/2218704830029539674S600x600Q85.jpg) That's all she wrote. I have no idea which chevrolet model this fits. It looks different than the others (inside). As far as OD and ID and lenght and taper ,is about the same but maybe a few thousandths difference. I wouldn't commit to selling it as a certain bushing for a certain model. If you want to take a chance .Email me. wawuzit@comcast.net

I understand the Oakie makes driveshaft bushing and seal repair less labor intensive but what parts are required without them? It would be nice to let people know that repairs are still readily possible w/o being on backorder for several years :)

True. The driveline can be repaired without a oakie bushing. The oakie bushing is not a GM part, all it does is save alot of time and trouble.

The oakie I bought on ebay had the part number (M103???) stamped very lightly on the outside of the bushing. I just saw it by accident. I was certain it didn't have a part number on it and wasn't sure it was the correct oakie until then. Give the outside a very close look, you might find one on yours too. Mine looked very similar to yours Steve.

I have bought some of these and looked at a few on Ebay. It appears that there was more than one manufacturer and they looked a little different on the outside.

I've used a magnifying glass and still don't see anything else. You won't need a magnifying glass if it's got one, the font is probably a 10 but it's very shallow and there's no contrast to make it stand out. I looked mine over several times without seeing it. It was toward one end on mine.
