Hi, folks - can someone tell me the exactly correct carburetor model number for 1953 with Powerglide? I know it is a Rochester BC with automatic choke. But I am finding conflicting info on the internet (imagine that!) carbs that are supposed to be correct for 1950 to 1956, things like that, which can't be accurate. The Shop Manual is pretty clear that 1953 was "new and improved." I'm finding model numbers like 7004478 and 7003538, and others. I just want to find the right one. Thanks for any insight.

the confusion comes in with the later years. As an example a 1956 carburetor was sold as a replacement for 1950-1955, etc.
This made it easier for the factory to make and stock one carburetor for six different years.
