I,m trying to identify a GM ten bolt rear end. Ithink it may be from a 55 to 59 chev. The numbers on the diff. case are H1361, 3707306. What is it out of and what is the gear ratio ? Thanks

The 3707306 is 1955 and 1956. A new aNd improved case was used for 1957 anf up and was sold for replacement for 1955-1957.
For the ratio the numbers are stamped into the , right side inline with the axle shaft tube (between the housing bolts). Will be AA, AB,AC, AK, AL, AM, BA,BB, OR BC. with the corect letter I can ID the ratio for you.

Gene, I found the code AB with 816 after it, is that a date code? If you could tell me what ratio goes with the AB code that would help alot. Thank you for your help.

That is a 3.55 ratio form a 1955 or 1956 Power Glide. From the code would have been from a 1956. Will fit 1957-1962 but would not recommend it for several reasons due to the improvements made in 1957.
