Does the Visor touch the hood when the hood is in the open postion? I see the Visors tilted in various positions. Does it touch in ANY postion that you choose to mount it in or is it tilted to prevent it from touching the hood?

Also can the wide Chrome end caps be bought to fit the Visor. I see some with a thin chrome strip in the middle and no chrome end caps.

Yea, you're right. Someone will start the point deduction thread...grin Wonder why we haven't had a photo update of the 41 convert rebuild? I may have to sneek across the hill and get a Esquire spy photo and sell it to you guys...hehehe

If you mount it as shown in the pic you posted you won't have a problem. I don't like the sleepy sombrero look and wanted mine more horizontal. The original center support won't allow enough adjustment to get it horizontal enough so I fabricated a new center support rod. I discovered the hard way that doing that doesn't allow sufficient clearance to the back of the hood. It's possible to open and close the hood, even to the support bracket, but attempting to open the hood all the way will chip paint. Also be aware that most of the side brackets aren't made for the coupe body style. The visor in your pic either isn't a Fulton or has had custom side brackets made. The Fulton bracket is a dog bone shape. Fulton Info

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. The one in the photo is A Peckat, the Holy Grail of Visors. $2k The ebay ad is really not the best one. The PDF below shows the GOLDEN BOY. $5000.00 Notice how the center section is pointed. I'm speaking LOWRIDER language, try to bite your lip....grin

This is supposedly as high as the Visor will go without modification, according to guys on another forum. (afraid to say which one...I might get banned)...grin ref

Yep, that's a high as it will go without fabricating a new center support arm. It's not difficult. It's only about two inches longer. It's rather odd because the side brackets have one more notch of adjustment when the center bracket is maxed out. My longer center support allowed me to use the last notch on the side brackets.

You'd go for it if you had a hardtop instead of the rag top..You need to buy a 38 coupe and get on the winning side. I'll even help you out, I'll finish up your project , just cut me a deal.. rockband

I happen to know the owner of the Maroon coupe w/Fulton visor. That visor could go "up" another inch or so, but it looks great where it is. Keeps the hot California sun off you when your driving!!

That car & the visor are both immaculate. And the owner is very cool as is his beautiful Black 1948 Fleetline Aero.

In So. Cal. there are about 25-30 PERFECTLY restored, beautiful 1936 - 1948 Chev's. They are the best of the best! And that Maroon Coupe is near the top of the list.

Flawless is the best word for these cars. Created by guys that love and respect old Chevy's and have a detail ethic that is a bench mark for the rest of us.

And don't ya wish you owned one of these beauties !!

I just installed a Fulton this weekend. Any of you guys know what these numbers are? I could not find the fulton model number marked anywhere. However, these letters were embossed inside the center metal cover.

Marked on Left side (24S0 S-0 NA 18) Marked on the right side ( A - 13Al CL AD AD - 24S NC AL )
