I have a chance to pick up a couple of 37 seats. Pix here:

Are these correct for a 38 2-door Master trunkback town sedan?

I have 2 front buckets now, but neither is adjustable. Also, mine have a chrome bracket on the outside of each seat; the bracket runs from the seat bottom and into where it hinges with the seat top. I've been told my seats are not correct for my car, so I'd like to be pretty sure the 37 seats are right for my 38. Here are my seats:

I have checked the parts book, and the adjuster is for 37 and 38. And Chevgene agreed with that. And I saw someone comment recently, that the grill was the only difference between the 2 years. Despite knowing what happpens when you assume things, I will assume the seats are the same for 37 and 38. Am I right?

So, now my more important 2nd point--does anybody see my seats as salvagable? My main issue is the inability to adjust them, altho the driver does have parts of an adjuster. When I raised the seat up in the air, the seat slid--it adjusted itself, which suited my short legs a lot better. So, I need the other adjuster parts. Keeping my odd looking seats would eliminate having to buy the 37 seats. The problem is my car's incorrect, blue interior--if I buy the brown, 1937 seats, I'd have to redo the back seat and the headliner, which sounds like $$$$$. I'd rather plunk all that money into an engine rebuild.

Any thoughts?

From what I see in the parts book the basic seats are the same.

These seats look just like my 37. I guess it depends on what you would have to invest in the new seats just to get the trigger for the adjuster. I would be looking for a parts car where I could buy just the missing part.

Thanks, Gene, that's about where I am, too.

I like the parts car idea, Randy. I do have another option: sketching those missing adjuster parts, then fabricating them. I'm not worried about the long rod w/ the 4 bends in it, or the spring that wraps around it. The problem looks like that bracket w/ the ears on it, through which the rod passes.
But with all that, I'm leaning toward keeping my seats. The other ones are a little pricey and would mean an expensive upholstery job on everything else.
Thanks.
